I am back – and still alive ;-)

I started from Berlin yesterday morning at 9.45 am. The travel went very well, it was very few traffic as I had hoped. I had hoped to be at home at around 4 – 4.30 pm (730km / 450mi distance between Berlin and Herxheim). But then north of Frankfurt my front left tyre blew when I was driving at 170km/h (105mph) on most left lane. Ay, caramba! But luckily I could pull over and come to a halt without anything happening.

Then I drove to the next garage on my emergency tyre and had the next problem: The tyre size is quite unusual and he could get two new ones (I replaced both front tyres) not until tomorrow (today).

So I called a friend (I used to live near Frankfurt) and asked if I could sleep over at his house. He agreed and we had a nice evening and a nice day with his family today until I got my car at 3 pm and could finally drive home. 🙂
