“G33k & G4M3R Girls”

Hello friends…
Don’t you want to meet a nice girl?

(First verse)
I, know a place
Where the gamer scores are so extreme (bloop boop boop!)
Dune, D & D,
Where Rand al’Thor still reigns supreme
Questin’, in Hyrule
Dominating Final Fantasy (Seven) (yeah yeah, siete)
Those boys
Losin’ sleep
Tryin’ ta keep up with our l33t sp34k (what up, n00bs?) (n00b sauce)

Be a part of our world
In latex and bows
Cuz’ these girls play Cos
Set our phasers to stun
You’ll be falling in love
Ooooooh oh ooooooh

(Chorus)
Geek and Gamer girls
We’re unbelievable
Comic books
And Manga in stock
Hasbro toys
So rare
We got the mail-away
Ooooooh oh ooooooh
Geek and Gamer girls
We’re undefeatable
FPS
Achievement unlocked
Jedi represent
Now put your sabers up
Oooooooh oh ooooooh

(Second Verse)
We, love Stan Lee (Excelsior!)
And Joss created all our favorite shows
We Frag
In our sleep (Killjoy!)
We will pwn your ass in Halo (uh oh)

Be a part of our world (Be a part of our world…)
In latex and bows
Cuz’ these girls play Cos
Set our phasers to stun (Set our phasers to stun…)
You’ll be falling in love
Ooooooh oh ooooooh

(Chorus)
Geek and Gamer girls
We’re unbelievable (Tri-force!)
We all know
That Han shot first (It’s a trap!)
Anime
No dubs
We want originals
Ooooooh oh ooooooh
Geek and Gamer girls (Level up!)
We’re undefeatable
RPG
Achievement Unlocked
Browncoats represent (Shiny!)
We aim to misbehave
Oooooooh oh ooooooh

(Rap)
Farscape
Sailor Moon
Hogwarts boys all make them swoon
Aragorn, Legolas
These are the boys they love the best
I mean they’re good to go
Love Scifi, yo’
Marvel
Vertigo
The girls are sweet
They can’t be beat
Super fine like Peach
Standing tall
He’s so bad
So say we all
Epic Lootz
The main role is played by Felicia Day (Buffy, Dr. Horrible). It’s basically about the members of a MMORP game guild which meet for the first time in RL.

I found it by watching this music video by and with the main characters:

Build in the form of a wiki, it outlines countless schemas that appear in literature/movies/comics and gives these “tropes” catchy names. Yesterday I’ve been reading this site for 7(!) hours straight and I barely scratched the surface. One jumps from trope to trope and one stumbles across new tropes that one recognizes and continues to read there.

The last tropes I read yesterday:

Genre Savvy – Television Tropes & Idioms
Took A Level In Badass – Television Tropes & Idioms
Our Vampires Are Different – Television Tropes & Idioms

You can get really lost in there.

At some point I got the glorious idea to update from Wordpress 2.3.2 to version 2.6.5. I was punished instantly because the WYSIWYG editor didn’t work anymore.

Luckily a few days later version 2.7 came out and I updated again. Looked nice but was terribly slow. And suddenly I got a mail from my provider that my scripts would drive the server insane and that I had to do something. So I checked all my projects and did some optimizations and whatnot because I thought the error would be somewhere in my “bricolage code” .

But then he said: It’s your Wordpress. So I deacticated all my plugins but it didn’t help. So what did I do, I exported all my posts, killed Wordpress 2.7, did a clean install of 2.3.3 and here we are again.

And what have we learned again what we’ve never should have forgotten? Never change a running system!
